Help in your language, and access help

You can get help from us in your language, and in the way that works for you.

An interpreter for your meetings

Tell your service coordinator before your meeting. We will arrange an interpreter. We have helped families in Spanish, American Sign Language, Farsi, Korean and other languages.

Papers in your language

We translate papers, like your Individual Program Plan. Translating an Individual Program Plan takes about 8 business days.

Ayuda en español

Puede pedir un intérprete o documentos en español. Hable con su coordinador de servicios.

Design noteThis paragraph is a placeholder. The production site’s Spanish pages would be translated and checked by people, starting from the plain-English text. Plain English first makes every translation easier: for your translators, for interpreters, and for the Azure AI translation pilot on your LACC plan. Your site’s Spanish today comes from machine translation (GTranslate).

If you are Deaf or hard of hearing

  • Every video on our site has captions and a written transcript.
  • Key pages have a video in American Sign Language.
  • You can reach us by email, not only by phone.

Watch this page in American Sign Language.

The video would go here, with captions and a transcript. Illustrative: there is no video in this concept.

Design noteEvery key page has a slot for an ASL video of the same words. WRC already has a Deaf+ and Hard of Hearing Communications Specialist and translates its courses into ASL, so we build the slot and the captioning workflow; WRC’s team records each key page once the plain-language text is approved.

If you are blind or have low vision

  • Our site works with screen readers, like NVDA and VoiceOver.
  • You can use the whole site with a keyboard.
  • You can make the text bigger, up to 4 times, and nothing gets cut off.
Design noteYour site uses an accessibility widget today. This concept is built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA in its own code, so the features people need are always on and nobody has to find a widget first. We would decide with your staff what happens to the widget at launch.

Learn at your own pace

We have 11 online courses, for example about service coordination and Individual Program Plan meetings. They are in English and Spanish. We are translating them into American Sign Language, Korean, Farsi and Amharic.

Tell us how we did

Our survey about interpreting and translation is in English, Spanish, Farsi and Korean. Take the survey (on the current WRC website)
